I just got an invitation to talk at the “Unveiling Microbial Mysteries: Pioneering Solutions for Tomorrow's Challenges' conference by Cognition Conferences. There are several tell-tale signs this is a predatory conference organizer.

Got an invitation for a "Global Meet" "Prime Meetings" conference in Miami.
This looks like #Spamference #PredatoryConference invitation, so beware if you get one of these invitations.

Yes, clearly spam #Spamference They will take your money, and you will someday be able to say “presented conference paper.” Most likely you don’t even have to show up - I wonder if the conference even takes place once the money collected.
Such invites seem common.

The invitation is signed by "Ms. Riya", and not by an established scientist.
An internet search for her phone number shows this name and number have been used previously by a spamference org called VDGOOD, which is based in India. See: evscienceconsultant.com/blog…

Mmmm, just got an invitation from BrainyMeet / Brainy Meet for what looks like a #Spamference - a conference that will cost you lots of $$$ but that is unlikely to give you a good experience.
Could not find much about them online, so here is a quick thread.

‘Lorum ipsum’ text blocks, no link to the conference website, and Twitter handles with weirdly spelled names. Yeah, that looks like a #Spamference to me.

Just got invited to what looks like a "spamference". Marked as spam by Gmail, organisers on a list of dodgy companies, not my field, etc. But the mail is signed by a senior Oxford professor. Should I notify him? How awkward will it be for both of us if he is indeed on the board?

I might be more inclined to believe that this is not a spamference if its website didn't tell me that it opens at 2 o'clock in the morning.
