Honestly with a few tweaks here and there, they could. They're more or less based off of the rebel pathfinders from Episode 6. The helmeted specforce troops are essentially elite rebel commandos so they're very rarely seen anyway

All they had to do was say these were SpecForce/Ops but nooooo gotta throw their soapbox in there with "The Resistance"

I still remember a line from one of the West End Games SW sourcebooks: "To the Empire, the Star Destroyer represents the pinnacle of military might. To SpecForce, it represents 50,000 design flaws just waiting to be exploited."

That scene on the Specforce cover alone is cooler and more evocative than anything they have done in decades.

Weather Update: Even in Trivial, if you are running missions on a planet with a specforce (JB/IC/PS/etc) and you get a bot drop/bug breach.... It can still generate the special force enemies as part of the spawn pool. I have come across shotgun devastators in Trivial this way.
