Got 3/4 mile of Gallagher Turbo Braid up, ran out so patched 50’ with poly wire. We use Speedrite 1000 energizer. Good news: Only that 50’ section (and a tiny bit after) has weaker shock. The rest of the fence still hits full Turbo power! Poly wire = skinny hose in a fire hose. Tiny section, no big deal for the cows. 👍 #fencing #cattle”

I have a speedrite on this fence I believe I have learned, here it’s best to have multiple chargers due to all the brush. Is something grows up and grounds out a fence, you aren’t chasing around a gazillion feet of fence… I can isolate it

If the fence is hot enough, they will honor it. I had the same concern until I did a few thing: 1. Purchased a very good charger (Speedrite 6 joules or better). 2. Improved the grounding system by driving three eight foot rods 15 feet apart. 3. In very dry conditions, I run a grounded poly wire a foot or so from the hot wire along the length of the fence. I run speedrite fencers and set them up on the bi polar set up which puts a positive charge on one wire and a negative charge on the other similar to a hot shot. It eliminates grounding issues and has been the most effective way to keep stubborn cows at bay.
