Got the Lincoln plated, drives exquisitely. Ortho doc said he can’t help; knew that, engaging the system. Said toes and fingers, overall, sack in tact, form their own cast shaping the bone gristle hybrid to come. Bones may not connect, fibrous…gristle settles. Many such cases.

Got steel toe 6”moc wedge for mechanic/shop work, 8” waterproof composite toe for cold field work. My current boots are so supple they wouldn’t have protected my toe any more than my sneakers. Over doing it after the fact, been a tough month. Steel in eye, dead dog, broken toe.

First proper day on the job, right at 9 weeks. Initially timid, took one surprise no context moving nose dive onto the gravel drive. A little consoling and she started getting into it and finished the run. GMI.

While visiting with the breeder where I got the current Heeler pup he said the pup’s grandsire heard the neighbor trying to catch a bull. He went down on his own, helped and just wrapping up got kicked in the head. The dog went blind, couldn’t adjust, deteriorated, was put down.

Said the dog “went crazy” over a couple months, went off feed, wouldn’t drink at the end. Hard to know for sure if it was the head trauma or the loss of sight. This Pepper dog probably sees light and dark, maybe shadows. He’s 9yrs old, a house dog and seems fairly happy/resigned.
