In my opinion, the #spicejetstaff failed to properly explain the rules to the army officer. The rule is that the maximum limit for hand baggage is 7 kg. If your bag is heavier and you still want to carry it as hand baggage, you have to pay an extra fee. On the other hand, checked - in luggage allows up to 15 kg for free. The staff should have explained to the officer that if he had a single bag weighing around 12 kg, he could check it in without any extra charge via checked in luggage way. However, if officer insisted on carrying it as hand baggage, he would have to pay the additional fee. It was as simple as that. This was not a Hindu-Muslim issue, as an employee named Mohit Verma was also speaking with the officer. This entire incident happened due to a communication gap, which is why the matter escalated. And what about #CISF. Why were they remain silent spectator. #SpiceJetAssault

Tmoy, while you may have a point about PTSD in general, especially among Armed Forces personnel, I don't think that's applicable here. Do watch the video carefully in this post below. You can see that the #SpiceJet staff member is speaking with his finger repeatedly pointing at the officer. The officer showed remarkable composure in dealing with him until he was hit by the staff. At one point three staff members had him pinned down. He only retaliated under extreme duress. If the Indian Army decides to curtail his career, that will entirely be its loss.
