Or walk around Spinningfields, Circle Square, St John’s, Ancoats, Albert Square etc etc & tell me you don’t have a clue about the wider city centre. Piccadilly Gardens is somewhere you pass through on the way elsewhere. Yet it’s all the non-locals jump on.

Eid prayers taking over English public spaces at spinningfields in Manchester and across the country. All other days there is enough mosque space to not do this. It's wrong. Walked past him in Spinningfields, got carried away and said loudly ‘that’s Gwion Edwards!’, and somewhat unsurprisingly he avoided eye contact with the big sweaty lanky dickhead who was a few pints deep

Manchester has some tall buildings. Because the *CITY COUNCIL* not the Mayor of Greater Manchester (two entirely different authorities) gave them planning permission - the first, Beetham Tower, in the year 2003 a full *FOURTEEN YEARS* before Burnham was on the scene. It has a renovated shopping and leisure district (Exchange Square). Because the IRA blew up the old one *TWENTY-ONE YEARS* before Burnham. It has a renovated business district, Spinningfields. Planned *TWENTY YEARS* before Burnham and already mostly completed by 2007 (ten years before Burnham). Literally *nothing* of what London-based journos see when they travel to a party conference in Manchester has anything to do with Burnham, save for yellow buses as to which none of them have the first idea how much they've actually cost. (half a billion quid and counting) He's a fraud. A more charismatic Starmer.
Manchester is probably the most improved European city of the 21st century.

Deansgate, Spinningfields, St Anne’s Sq are all lovely and seem to be thriving despite the absolutely insane lane closures and bike lanes they’ve put up. I made a rare trip on foot to Piccadilly Station the other day. OMG what a shithole!
