We have numbers. Big bump to plain films at the expense of body CT and neuro CT/MRI as well as a general devaluing of ED work. On the breast side, a huge cut to screeners for a smaller increase for diagnostics. For IR, no delta. GI fluoro still isn’t fair.

Is this why my StatRad reads at night which are contracted to be read in 45 minutes are taking 4-5 hours thereby making my job profoundly unsafe? I'm making very important decisions based on my review of CT scans and I'm going to get burned at some point. Can't do EM this way.

StatRad and Nighthawk are just a couple of the telerad services available. Used a lot after-hours where radiologists are working overseas during the day time to do reads at night stateside or vice versa. If I need a quick consultation, they are just a phone call away.
