If you wouldn’t mind praying for our daughter… she has been sick a lot since Dec. pertussis, flu A, norovirus, strepA, strepB and now mono. She is pretty miserable and over being sick. We also recently found out she has my hereditary blood disorder. Which complicates matters.

A Monday morning in ER pain in my leg is at 7...ultrasound shows no blood clot..sent home. Next Monday pain in my leg is 10 and no opioids or pain meds are helping. Ultrasound shows 2 blood clots and now have a strepB blood infection. Total ER time 20 hours in Chinada's capital

Dear Bill….hmmmm, where in the prenatal world could you draw blood for HepA/B/C testing. Initially with the CBC, during the 1 hour glucose test, maybe when giving an UA for protein testing…or maybe when you get swapped for strepB. Toss in that HIV testing as well.

As someone who was recently pregnant all things pre/post natal (Tdap, glucola, vitK, ultrasounds, strepB swabs, etc) are villainized in the name of wellness & disinfo inundated my feed on other apps. I didn’t engage & selected “don’t show” but they kept popping up.

This wasn’t part of todays plan…impromptu picnic while @alexmac06 is back at school. Sadly he has a StrepB infection in the wound on his ear post-cryotherapy so it’s too risky to his health to have the surgery 😢 #Postponed!!

Very sobering that the #ACNC2024 starts with a spotlight on maternity and how nothing is changing with maternity at a rate that is making a real tangible difference in spite of all the reviews. This is why I support @Safe_Maternity call for an inquiry into maternity.

My son survived strepB but probably wouldn't have if my labor hadn't been 4 hours 10 minutes. My due date was way off, dr stripped my membranes way early and I got an infection. I went home without him - he stayed for a week in NICQ. I understand the heartache. I'm so so sorry!!

a) agar plate used is Chromoagar StrepB.
b)the mauve or pink organism is Group B Streptococcus (Streptococcus agalactiae). Prepartum screening of GBS in pregnant women btw 34 to 38 weeks of gestation is extremely important. It can cause some severe neonatal infections.
