Getting back into newly formed habits isn’t easy, especially after life throws you a curveball. After 10 days off from the gym because of a hospital stay and surgery, today was my first day back. I won’t lie, it was a struggle just to roll out of bed. I barely slept, couldn’t get comfortable, and when that alarm went off, I seriously thought about hitting snooze and staying wrapped up in my warm bed.
But I didn’t. I pushed myself. I showed up.
I took it slow, listened to my body, and reminded myself that healing takes time. My body has been through a lot these past 10 days, but as I sit here in the hot tub, I’m proud... because I did it. I showed up for me.
Yes, I gained 10 lbs while recovering, and honestly, that hit me hard at first. I even cried when I saw the number. But weight gain after surgery and rest isn’t failure, it’s just part of the process. This morning, I’m already back under 220, and more importantly, I feel good. I’m back on track, back in motion, and ready to keep pushing toward my 200 lb goal.
The point? Progress isn’t always perfect, and motivation doesn’t always feel strong but with honest effort and a little faith in yourself, you can do anything you set your mind to. 💪✨
