Greenville Pickens Speedway will be SAVED! One way or another it will be saved! So far County Council has not helped at all! There have been other counties that have stepped in and deemed things HISTORIC! It CAN be done. The constant denial of this is degrading! There is NO spot zoning on an overlay district. It does not apply to a historic landmark! After talking to several lawyers and people in Columbia , this is the TRUTH! Don’t take my word for it , so your own research. Just because someone is a government official it doesn’t mean that everything they say is true or factual . People make mistakes . We shall see what the council decides to spit out next as an excuse as to why they want even put the vote to make it historic in the agenda! If they are telling you they are helping , they are NOT! They are voted in by the people and paid by the people and they are not HELPING ! Two ways to save this racetrack 1. Having it deemed a Historical Landmark ( county council has to file it through the state. 2. Getting the offer that is on the table finalized .
