However, in Japan, unauthorized IRL streaming in public places such as restaurants, streets, and shops has become a serious and widespread issue. Recent example: nanatty & AlohaSteve filmed inside a Fuji Soba restaurant without permission. When staff politely asked them to stop, they reportedly shouted “Fuck you!” and verbally abused the staff. The video went viral here and is heavily damaging Kick’s reputation in Japan. Many Japanese users believe Kick’s extremely high revenue share — 95% — is one of the root causes, as it can incentivize disruptive behavior for attention rather than great content. I also believe that viewbotting and other forms of artificial inflation are part of the same problem, because they reward manipulation instead of genuine audience interest. We fully support Kick’s creator-first philosophy, but could the moderation team please address these repeated public nuisance, harassment, and manipulation cases more firmly? We want “great content wins” to truly happen here too. Thank you for your attention.
