People think "freedom will always prevail at the end". Because "people will eventually revult against the tyrant". Never mind that this comes only after unimaginable death and suffering, but it's also ALWAYS (yes, every time) powered or influenced by freedom outside the pocket of tyranny. Sometimes with actual military help from the outside, but mostly just the example of freedom on the outside that people see and want, as it always outperforms tyranny. But without seeing the outside (take NK for example) tyrants will rule forever because people do not fight without seeing a better world. NK will escape tyranny only if they see the outside world. If they don't, they will stay slaves forever. Now imagine the entire world under tyranny. That is forever, not just a generation or two. The internet is what allowed global tyranny, as it's the first time a select few can control what most of humanity see and believe. And AI will make it even easier since AI gives the tyrants the power to control individual voices. One tyrant can literally respond to every individual speaking against them. That's even more than the horror we have today. If it weren't for Musk, we'd already be well inside this tyranny. He's the only one allowing free speach online in any significant way. The only AI that at least attempts to speak truth (lots of mistakes, but at least the goal is still there). If people don't fight now, the future fight will be harder. And the fight now is already hard, since voting and democracy are unlikely to do anything. It's still possible to vote with your money (boycott evil), but even that may not be enough. Yet you too many don't understand the stakes or the evil we are up against.
