ALPHAFOLD: Five years of impact; Since 2020, #AlphaFold has accelerated the pace of science and fueled a global wave of #BiologicalDiscovery — an achievement recognized with a #NobelPrize. Five years ago, #AlphaFold2 solved the #ProteinStructurePrediction problem, unlocking new avenues of biological research and providing our first major proof point that #AI can be a powerful tool to advance science. #AlphaFold3, was then developed with #IsomorphicLabs, which offers an unprecedented view into cells that we expect to drive a transformation of the #DrugDiscovery process and usher in an era of "#DigitalBiology." The model is designed to predict the structure and interactions of all of #LifeMolecules — not just #Proteins, but #DNA, #RNA & #Ligands (the small molecules that make up most drugs). It can also generate the joint #3D-Structures of-#EntireMolecularComplexes, allowing a holistic view of how a potential #DrugMolecule binds to its #TargetProtein, or how proteins interact with #GeneticMaterial. Presented today at #CCR25 in Belfast, the #TARGETProtein trial provided a new piece of evidence for nutrition in critically ill patients. 💥 Looking forward to see how this trial will affect clinical practice and guidelines @CritCareReviews @ESPENorg @JAMA_current

Das Problem ist, dass nur ca. 20% das Targetprotein haben. Bei denen funktioniert es aber anscheinend zT ganz gut.

There may be some arguments between us about which is the best study... Clearly it’s #TARGETPROTEIN but @TAMEtrial ain’t too bad 😜

Thanksfully this is one aspect we don’t need to consider for #TARGETProtein!

This thread of some great work shows higher protein may improve N balance in critically ill pts, and there are ways to deliver more protein enterally; but is this feasible across multiple sites and will more protein improve clinical and functional outcomes? #TARGETProtein
@BdaCare 19 studies (10RCTs) main outcome = N balance improved with 1.75-2.5g/kg compared to <1.5g
