Learning to pronounce students’ names is extremely important! A person’s name is a huge part of their identity - if you don’t take the time to learn how to say it correctly, what message are you presenting?

Yesterday I helped a 2nd grader (Russian speaker) with the short vowel sounds in English. Today they gave me this along with a Russian-language mini-lesson. I love it so much and will frame it for my wall. Moments like this one sustain me. #TeachingELLs
