Here is my 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 2026, which I checked because of the new usage-based billing changes.
I’ve been a 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨 user for a long time, but lately I’ve been seriously considering 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Honestly, I’m surprised by how fast things are changing in the AI space. First, you become dependent on these tools, and then suddenly the pricing and limitations start shifting in ways that feel difficult to justify.
At the same time, over the last couple of months, I’ve noticed that GitHub Copilot’s support experience has not been great either. Many developers, including myself, have raised questions and reported issues, but responses are often very slow — sometimes taking more than 3 days.
That said, I still genuinely love Visual Studio, and Copilot works exceptionally well inside the .NET ecosystem. That integration is honestly one of the biggest reasons I kept using it as my primary coding assistant until now.
So I’m curious to hear from fellow .NET developers:
What AI tools are you using in your day-to-day development work right now?
Which tools do you think offer the best balance between productivity, reliability, and reasonable pricing?
