CRYPTO NEWSWIRE: Tether Mints $2 Billion USDT, Pushing Supply Past $160 Billion Tether minted an additional 2 billion USDT on the Ethereum blockchain on 16 July, according to on-chain monitoring services. Roughly half of the newly created tokens — about 1 billion USDT—were moved almost immediately from the Tether Treasury to Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume. The latest issuance pushes the dollar-pegged stablecoin’s circulating supply to a record of about $160 billion, continuing a rapid expansion that has added roughly $20 billion since the start of the year. TokenTerminal data show USDT outstanding on the Tron network alone has climbed to an all-time high near $81.7 billion. Chief Executive Officer Paolo Ardoino described the mint as an “inventory replenish,” explaining that the tokens will be deployed over time for customer redemptions, new issuance and cross-chain swaps. He reiterated that all coins are fully backed, pointing to Tether’s second-quarter disclosure of more than $127 billion in U.S. Treasury exposure through direct holdings, money-market funds and reverse-repo agreements. Circle, the issuer of rival stablecoin USDC, also expanded supply on 16 July, minting roughly $578 million, blockchain data show. The surge in fresh stablecoin liquidity comes as crypto trading volumes rise following Bitcoin’s recent record above $120,000, underscoring the demand for tokenized dollars across centralized and decentralized markets. #Tether #USDT #Stablecoin #CryptoNews #Cryptocurrency #Blockchain #Ethereum #Binance #CryptoMarket #TokenMinting #DigitalCurrency #CryptoTrading #TetherTreasury #StablecoinSupply #CryptoLiquidity #TronNetwork #USDTSupply #PaoloArdoino #TetherBacking #USDollar #CryptoExchange #TokenTerminal #CryptoExpansion #StablecoinMarket #Bitcoin #BTC #CryptoVolume #TetherMint #USDTIssuance #BlockchainData #CryptoFinance #StablecoinDemand #TetherTransparency #USDCP #Circle #CryptoEcosystem #DigitalAssets #CryptoEconomy #TetherReserves #CryptoUpdates #StablecoinNews #CryptoInvesting #BlockchainTechnology #TetherSupply #CryptoTrends #StablecoinLiquidity #CryptoBullMarket #TetherEthereum #CryptoInnovation

The mining OS sounds impressive… open-sourcing it is a solid move for decentralization and access. But respectfully, Paolo, the biggest moat Tether could build right now isn’t hardware or software. It’s transparency. Before AI plugins and Raspberry Pi clusters, the industry needs: – Real-time attestations – Verifiable audits – Clarity on reserve composition – Clear jurisdictional oversight – Open communication around risk policies You want to make mining great again, fair. But how about making stablecoins trustworthy again? Because no matter how good the infra gets, if the rails are opaque, the foundation remains fragile. #CryptoFundamentalist #TetherTransparency #DecentralizeWithIntegrity #SignalOverNoise
