One day after little Sam’s birthday, he accidentally tipped over a pot of boiling water, suffering second-degree burns on his chest and face.
His parents rushed him to a hospital, only to be turned away—no doctors were available on Saturday, and they were told they needed to pay upfront and they only had a few baht then. A well-meaning neighbor suggested using coconut oil, but unfortunately, that only made things much worse.
Why coconut oil can be dangerous on burns:
Traps heat, worsening the burn
Increases risk of infection when applied to broken skin
Delays proper healing by interfering with medical treatments
We got the call late last Saturday night ( a week after the accident ) and immediately brought food and diapers the next day on a Sunday, we rushed Sam to a different hospital and got him admitted into the emergency room.
Thanks to your kindness—and a generous donation of 3,000 baht from Ronnie Moas—Sam received the urgent care he needed. He's now healing well and attending his follow-up visits, supported by your ongoing donations.
Thank you all for making moments like this possible.
