The Safe Library Tip #54 Clean Out Your Lost and Found Box: The end of the year is a good reminder to look at your library's Lost and Found box, bin, or closet and empty it out. Make certain you are following any legal requirements from your state, city, or county, as to how long you have to keep any items left by patrons. When the time has passed, empty the box by throwing out obvious trash or broken items, donate any items to a worthy charity, or let staff keep what they want. No sense keeping items any longer than legally required. @TheSafeLibrary #libraries #librarians
