2023 was the best year yet for my startup! 🎉 Thank you for being along for the ride 🎢 10 highlights 😃 (and lowlights 😩)! with more detail/examples in posts below 1. Removed our Free plan - pricing is HARD, but our customers were SO supportive. One of the best decisions made. 2. Accidentally deleted data in our database. I almost cried. Our customers again were so supportive (we seriously have the best customers ❤️) 3. Released an AI feature - but made sure it fit with our product, not just for the hell of it 🤖 4. Added Color themes and Emoji themes to our product - aka 'boring' features - but our customers LOVED it (more than the AI feature 😂) 5. Our website got hit by credit card testers. Of course this happened close to midnight so I was up till 2am trying to sort out. But @Stripe support was AMAZING, thank you @sammcallister 6. Guille joined the team! Recruiting is HARD and time consuming but so worth it when its the right fit 7. We were affected by the SVB collapse - seriously stressful 😭 8. A kind soul gave us the @LlamaLife twitter handle - for free. Faith in humanity restored. 9. Started building our mobile app (aiming to launch Jan 2024)!! 10. @ADHDJesse and I recorded 37 episodes of our podcast, @TheWeeklyBuild. As someone with ADHD, believe me when I say this took commitment but am so proud we did it!

A big milestone for us: just recorded episode 50 of our podcast 🎉🎙️! It's a weekly podcast, so that's one recording a week for a whole year! When it started I had no expectations for it, just that I'd get to have fun and interesting conversations about building 'stuff' with my friend @adhdjesse. In that time, have learned so much. It's so great checking in with 1 other person every single week. That person knows your journey, but is still outside your business so can help give advice, brainstorm and bounce ideas. If you're able to do this - even if not in a formal podcast recording - it's so worth it. Episode 50 was a fun one - it started off as a normal episode and then we started talking about a coding problem and it got super passionate and energized and a bit off the rails. Too hard to explain on Twitter/X, but I'll probably chat nuances on @TheWeeklyBuild this week. It's a bit everything. Just hit from all angles really. We gave Freemium a good shot. Basically ran at a negative for over a year. So needed to change things up for long term business survival.

When we recorded ep 42 of our podcast @TheWeeklyBuild, I thought it was the worst one we'd done! I felt awful for the rest of the day, thinking about it over and over, how I messed it up 😖 Just listened to it. It was fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just goes to show we always judge ourselves too harshly!! (and our editor did a fantastic job too!)
