President Trump said it clearly: all they have to do is say yes. The Democrats just have to say yes, and negotiations open up. The government reopens. But they won’t do it. In my opinion, they’re not coming back to the table anytime soon. They’re waiting for those fucking tax credits. That’s what this whole shutdown is about. They’re stalling until the insurance companies get their money locked in for 2026. That’s the game. Here’s what’s really going on: the ACA premium tax credits—those subsidies that make insurance “affordable”—are set to expire at the end of 2025. But insurance companies are already setting 2026 rates. They do it in late October and early November. If those credits aren’t extended, premiums will explode. We’re talking about going from $888 a month to $1,904. That’s a disaster. So the Democrats are holding the government hostage to make sure those credits get extended before the rate notices go out. That’s why they won’t negotiate. That’s why they won’t reopen. They’re protecting the insurance racket. And if this drags on much longer, we’ll know exactly what they’re doing. They’re not hiding it anymore. They’re just hoping you’re too stupid to notice. And I’m done calling them DEMO💩CRAPTS. I’m done calling them Democrats. That shit’s over.
