This is going to be wildly unpopular in many circles! MAGA and Moms for Liberty have a scapegoat for historically low student achievement. They are going to spend the 2nd term of the Trump presidency pressing congress to dismantle @usdoegov which they see as the root of all that has gone wrong with public education in the United States. This allows them to, in turn, mount massive media campaigns claiming how hard they are working for our students without doing any work for our students. @usdoegov is not solely responsible for how low student achievement has sunk. And dismantling @usdoegov will not turn around student achievement overnight or even in the short term. If MAGA and Moms for Liberty truly want to be seen as pro-student, then it is past time for them to role up their collective sleeves, stop only preaching during public comment portions of school board meetings, and actually put forth data driven strategies and help implement those data driven strategies. #nced #ncgov #ncpol #timetogettowork #students1stnc
