To be clear, that was my speculation when it happened and I knew the Toymaker would appear. The actual explanation, such as it was, was completely different.

The way i see it, Miyamoto is an industrial designer at heart, games are just toys for him, and he’s a toymaker, and i feel like thats the reason why his games are timeless, it’s really sad anyways, i wish he would appreciate the medium more.

I thought it was the Toymaker, forcing the Doctor into an old face because he preferred it to the later versions.

I feel that's how 15 should have entered as 14 was battling the Toymaker. The bi-regeneration could have been saved then for the Rani as an experiment gone wrong.
