Today, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited hosted the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, for Day 1 of a site visit to assess the progress of the Kampala Metropolitan Transmission System Improvement Project. The Minister toured the Bujagali and Mukono substations, where ongoing works are aimed at strengthening the transmission network and enhancing the quality, reliability, and stability of bulk power supply across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. #TransmittingForTransformation

We hosted the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) Board of Directors & Management at our Tororo pole treatment plant today. The delegation, led by the Chairperson Board represented by Eng. Eriasi Kiyemba, was received by the UETCL team led by Mr. Godfrey Masaba on behalf of the CEO. The plant plays a key role in treating and preserving wooden poles used in our transmission infrastructure, ensuring durability, safety, and network reliability. The visit reaffirmed our commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and efficient power transmission. #PoweringRegionalIntegration: UETCL’s Early Market Engagement for the 400kV Uganda–Tanzania Interconnection Project (UTIP) is underway at the Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala. Strengthening power reliability in Mirama Hills: A 15/20MVA transformer has been transferred from Mbarara North to Mirama Substation, ensuring stable electricity supply for surrounding communities, Inspire Africa Coffee, and the mining industry.
