Very disappointing experience with the media accreditation process for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Despite being an Indian sports journalist, I was not granted approval to cover even a single Indian team match during the entire tournament. At the same time, several small YouTube channels with minimal reach appear to have received approvals for multiple matches. This raises serious questions about the criteria and transparency of the media accreditation process. It is also unfortunate that the role of an Indian team media manager in this process appears deeply disappointing, with allegations that approvals were influenced in favor of a few preferred individuals.
