RIS had the pleasure of hosting students from the Central University of Kerala (@cukeralatweet) for an engaging interactive discussion with our faculty. Speaking at the Closing, @UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib highlighted outcomes of the High-Level Forum on Strengthening Water Action through #SouthSouth and #TriangularCooperation.

The Fourth High-Level International Conference on the Water Action Decade concluded with adoption of the Dushanbe Declaration, calling for stronger global partnerships, including through #SouthSouth and #TriangularCooperation, to accelerate sustainable and inclusive water action.

The value of #SouthSouth and #TriangularCooperation was emphasized in supporting country priorities through knowledge exchange, technology transfer, capacity development and partnership-building across the Global South.

At the “Water in the post-2030 agenda” panel in Dushanbe, @UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib stressed that rising climate pressures, rapid urbanization and widening development gaps demand a new approach to water cooperation. #SouthSouth & #TriangularCooperation are key.

UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib met with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan H.E. Juma Daler Shofakir to discuss opportunities to deepen #SouthSouth and #TriangularCooperation in support of water, energy and sustainable development priorities.
