Thank you, everyone, for the texts, social media messages, calls, and general outpouring of support.
I want you all to know, I'm fine!
As we can see, there is still so much work to be done, and I will address that in the coming weeks.
Right now, I want to say that running for office is something I never aspired to do, never mind twice. With all of the corruption we have been through as a society, and more personally, as a family and military community, I had picked up the fight for those who couldn't or didn't know how to.
There is absolutely no one in the world whom I would fight harder for than my children and
@ted_macie.
With that said, I will still be fighting for them and this country, but in the way I do when I am not a candidate (which I find to be more effective).
I have no plan of ever running for office again. I promised the people that I would run again in 2024 if a good opponent never surfaced. That is not something I can commit to this time. Truthfully, it is neither easy nor fun to run for office, especially as a regular person who just wants a better government and must work through REAL grassroots.
This campaign has seen Ted through to the [premature] end of his career in the US Navy, as he retires in just a little over a month. New things are on the horizon, and although what he chooses to do after retirement is yet to be determined, people have made some interesting suggestions.
We're not going anywhere. Hopefully, none of you do, either!
