Even if a unit's targeting restriction is no longer met, they are still being chosen. The exception to this rule is if the unit goes to a non-board zone, THEN they are no longer a game object and the relationship between the card and its target is severed. This is further detailed in the Unleashed FAQ (Ctrl F "Repulse"). Imo, 359.3.e.2. needs to be further clarified that even if the target no longer meets targeting requirements, it was still "chosen" (compared to 359.3.e.4. which makes clear the unit is no longer chosen).
