⚡️🇦🇿🇰🇿 Aliyev in Kazakhstan — this is no longer just a visit, it’s the route of a new era.
In recent months, Ilham Aliyev has visited Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and now — Kazakhstan.
The state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan made it clear from the very start: this was not a matter of protocol. The talks in Astana, which ended with the signing of 15 documents, demonstrated that a genuine alliance is emerging between Baku and Astana — one where economy, energy, and security are tightly intertwined. Kazakh oil already flows through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan route, while SOCAR and KazMunayGas have begun joint development of the Dunga field — a symbol of energy unity between the two brotherly nations.
But it’s not only about oil. The spotlight is on the Middle Corridor — the Trans-Caspian artery connecting Asia and Europe without crossing a single kilometer of Russian territory. By 2030, transport volumes are expected to triple, turning Azerbaijan into a key hub of new Eurasian logistics.
Behind these projects lies not just economics, but a new political reality in the region. The Black Sea has long ceased to be a stable direction, and Kazakhstan is seeking reliable export routes. Azerbaijan has become its natural bridge — with the Alat Port, modern railways, pipelines, and deep experience in connecting East and West.
Military cooperation is also expanding. The “Unity – 2025” joint exercises showed that Baku and the Central Asian countries act as partners who trust each other not only in the economy, but also in matters of security.
Once, these relations were described by the simple formula “5 1” — Central Asia plus Azerbaijan. But today, that formula has evolved into a single “6”: Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states are shaping a shared space.
The Silk Road is coming back to life, but in a new form — through ports, trains, transport corridors, and digital routes. Once it linked merchants and caravans; now it unites economies and technologies.
After the collapse of the USSR, the region long depended on old routes passing through Russia. But times have changed — closed borders and crises have forced the search for new paths. And Azerbaijan has become that very “window” to the wider world — reliable, flexible, and modern.
Now this route once again passes through the Caspian and Baku — just as caravans from the East once made their way to Europe. This is no longer just a corridor; it’s a new version of the Silk Road — with an Azerbaijani accent, Central Asian energy, and a shared vision of the future.
Not long ago, Central Asia was called a “treasure chest” locked in the heart of the continent. Now, Azerbaijan is the key to that chest. Our pipelines, ports, and railways have become a real alternative to the old routes.
And, to be honest, this is no longer just economics — it’s geopolitics built by our own hands.
Aliyev isn’t just meeting leaders — he’s connecting the dots that form the map of the future.
