After years of disputes, Europe finally has a unified set of rules to tackle illegal migration. 🇪🇺👍🏻 What does this mean in practice? ✅ Mandatory security and identity checks for all migrants at the EU’s external borders. ✅ Registration of biometric data in the shared Eurodac database. ✅ Faster border asylum procedures for applicants with a low chance of being granted asylum. In my view, these procedures should be even faster. There is no reason to delay. ✅ Mandatory return procedures for those who do not qualify for international protection. ✅ A stronger role for Frontex and reinforced protection of the EU’s external borders. ✅ A common European system designed to prevent a repeat of the chaos seen in 2015. One principle must continue to apply, and I have said it for years: without effective returns, no migration system will work. Anyone who has no legal right to remain in Europe must leave Europe. Europe needs migration to be under control. They think ICE is locking up innocent people. Wrong. Every one of these detainees is held because they broke federal law under the Immigration and Nationality Act. “No ICE Threat Level” is ICE’s own label. It means the person has no extra U.S. criminal convictions beyond the immigration violation that put them in custody. Let’s prove it with the exact words from the law books. Illegal entry is 8 U.S.C. § 1325. The statute says: “Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers … shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both.” That is a federal misdemeanor. Re-entry after deportation is 8 U.S.C. § 1326. It reads: “any alien who has been denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed … and thereafter enters, attempts to enter, or is at any time found in, the United States … shall be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.” That is a felony. Penalties go higher with prior crimes. Visa overstays, ignored removal orders and plain unlawful presence are not always criminal charges, but they trigger administrative detention. That means ICE holds the person to make sure they show up in court and get removed. These rules come straight from federal law. None of these people are “law-abiding guests.” The U.S. Constitution backs what ICE is doing. Article II, Section 3 commands the President to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” That is the exact wording. Immigration and border laws fall under the executive branch. President Trump’s 2025-2026 push simply follows that duty — the same duty every president had until recent years of selective non-enforcement. Local jails like Butler County sign contracts with ICE. The county gets paid a daily fee per detainee. This is a legal partnership to enforce federal rules, not some local invention. WCPO lifted its headline numbers straight from ICE’s public dashboard. The headline just skipped the part that matters: these detainees still violated federal immigration law. That cherry-picking turns a fact into fake outrage. It paints ICE officers as the bad guys and plants distrust in lawful enforcement. Half-true headlines like this do not inform. They deceive. They chip away at constitutional order and keep Americans divided. The rule of law is not optional. Enforcing it is not bias — ignoring it is.
