If this is true, it would be a major shift in how we approach language and integration in the U.S. Learning English is important for unity, communication, and opportunity, and it makes sense that a nation should have a common language for government affairs. At the same time, we should always strive to support those who are trying to learn and integrate rather than shame or exclude them. America is a land of opportunity, and part of that opportunity is helping people succeed, not creating unnecessary barriers.
Lord, I lift up this nation and all who call it home. You have brought people from every background here, and I pray that we would find ways to unify rather than divide. I pray for wisdom for our leaders as they navigate policies that affect so many lives. Lord, help those who come to this country with hopes for a better future—give them strength, guidance, and opportunities to learn and grow. May we, as a people, extend both patriotism and compassion, knowing that our greatest strength is found in faith, truth, and unity.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
