ULLAS marked a strong presence with its stall, showcasing rich learning resources for adult learners in 22 scheduled Indian languages—including primers, compendiums, audio-video programmes, worksheets, assessment tools, and critical life skill storybooks focused on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy. The learner-friendly TLMs developed by CNCL captivated young minds, while 𝐆𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢 from Saaksharta Ki Dagar Par became a popular selfie point for educators, students, and visitors alike. Exactly. It’s not about being unwelcoming—it’s about having a common language that unites us. The issue isn’t immigration or diversity—it’s the refusal to assimilate because we’ve created a system that caters instead of encourages integration. Learning English isn’t about exclusion—it’s about opportunity, communication, and unity. Every successful nation has a shared language that allows its people to function as one. When we prioritize translations over teaching, we create division rather than inclusion. We should help and support those who want to learn, but at the end of the day, there has to be personal responsibility. If someone moves to a country, it should be expected that they make an effort to speak the language—not that the country changes for them.
