Google just emailed users about a settings change that looks routine but has one part worth actually reading. They are splitting "Web & App Activity" into two separate controls: Search services history and Personalised Recommendations. Most users will not notice any difference at transition because your current on/off state carries forward automatically. The part that deserves attention is the new "Save media" subsetting. If your Web & App Activity is currently on, Google will now also save images, files, audio, and video from your interactions with Search, Lens, and Live Search to your account history. That saved media is used to develop and improve Google's AI models and services. This is new behavior, it was not happening under the old setting structure, and it defaults to on if your activity tracking was already on. You can turn off the Save media subsetting independently without touching your search history. Go into your Google Account, find Search services history, and look for the Save media option. Takes about 30 seconds. The other practical note: from this point forward, Web & App Activity and Search services settings are independent. Changing one will not affect the other. If you have auto-delete configured, that carries over as-is. No alarm needed here. But the Save media default is a deliberate choice that affects how your interactions feed Google's AI training pipeline. Worth knowing it is on and worth deciding consciously whether you want it to stay that way. Check your settings. Make the choice yourself rather than letting a default make it for you. #DataPrivacy #AIGovernance #GoogleSearch #DigitalRights #ResponsibleAI #PrivacySettings #AITransparency #TechPolicy #UserControl #AIEthics

Execution is not enough, acceptance must be proven. With Proof of Satisfaction, high-risk actions do not finalize without explicit receiver approval, making consent a core part of the protocol. This simple rule adds real friction to scams and turns critical flows into controlled, user-validated actions. Day 4 — April 4, 2026 Dear @ElonMusk @NikitaBier, We genuinely need a notification feature for when someone unfollows you 😅 Not for drama… just for awareness so we can match energy accordingly 🤝 Fair is fair. Let’s keep pushing this until it reaches the X team 📣 It’s a simple feature, but a valid one — and I fully support it. 📊 Poll: Should X notify you when someone unfollows you? • Yes — I want to know instantly 👀 • No — ignorance is bliss 🙅 • Make it optional ⚙️ • I don’t really care 🤷 💬 My take: This isn’t about overreacting it’s about control and transparency. We already get notified when someone follows us, so having the option to know when they unfollow just completes the loop. Not everyone will use it, but giving users that choice makes the platform more balanced and user-friendly. Let’s make it happen 🚀 Best regards, @abdoul_official #XApp #SocialMediaTips #UnfollowNotification #UserControl #Transparency #TechPoll #ElonMusk #NikitaBier

Day 2: 2nd April, 2026 Dear @ElonMusk @NikitaBier, We seriously need a notification feature for when someone unfollows you 😅 Not even for drama… just so we can return the energy immediately 🤝 Fair is fair. Let’s keep pushing this until it reaches the X team 📣 It’s actually valid and I fully support it. 📊 Poll: Should X notify you when someone unfollows you? • Yes — I need to know immediately 👀 • No — some things are better unknown 🙅 • Optional setting would be perfect ⚙️ • I don’t care either way 🤷 💬 Opinion: Honestly, it’s about control and awareness. We already get notified for follows, so having the option to know when someone unfollows just balances things out. @elonmusk @xAI @elonmusk @xAI @Grok @lindayaX @wholemars @SawyerMerritt @karpathy @bindureddy @ProtonPrivacy @signalapp Persistent memory for Grok is overdue. Transformers are stateless — KV cache expires, context windows cap, long histories compress or vanish. Everyone knows this. The fix is simple, cheap, and so obvious I can’t believe it isn’t already done: **Local-first persistent memory on the user's device temporary encrypted cloud delta sync only during active session.** - Local encrypted file (~1–5 GB max) on phone/computer. User owns it, controls the key. - Client app reads it at session start, sends only relevant encrypted delta (summaries, anchors, embeddings) to server. - Grok gets full continuity during chat. - Session ends: new delta pushed back to local file. Server deletes temp cache instantly — zero retention. - Offline fallback: basic continuity from local file. - Premium: optional cloud curation for smarter summaries/cross-device sync. Free: pure local-only. Privacy/security: End-to-end encrypted. User holds the key. No server-side plaintext. Simple EULA checkbox: “I understand persistent memory is stored locally on my device. I am responsible for its management, backup, and deletion. Grok assists with redaction (e.g., remove addresses/names) via client-side review & approval. Final accountability is mine.” Hacking/jailbreak protection: Server sees only ephemeral encrypted deltas. No persistent server-side memory to inject into. Client-side validation delta size limits block abuse. If someone tries malicious anchors, server processes only for current reply and discards — no long-term risk. Engineering? Trivial plumbing. Client uses existing IndexedDB/Secure Enclave encryption. Server accepts/returns encrypted delta and deletes. Small team could prototype in weeks, ship beta in months. No model retraining, no massive infra changes. I can’t believe this isn’t the default already. You’re the richest, smartest team building the future, and you haven’t given users real, private, owned persistent memory yet? It’s shocking. It’s obvious. It’s overdue. Ship local-first memory. Make it dead simple. Watch trust and adoption explode. I’m @TheOnlyMeki. Been using Grok since Grok 2. I think it's time someone said something that should be obvious.
