⬆️ For UK journalists covering politics, environment, public accountability and water. Please review the Drive link in the tweet above. The report maps the policy pipeline around River Action, Surfers Against Sewage, Wildlife and Countryside Link, the WI, The Rivers Trust, March for Clean Water, APPG links and River Summit networks. The issue is not public outrage. The issue is how that outrage is translated into policy. The public want a full end to sewage pollution everywhere, not weaker asks that leave the system standing. The press should not just platform the comfortable NGO version of the crisis. It should scrutinise who shapes the demands, who gets heard, and which policy asks are excluded. This is not about whether working-class people appear in coverage as residents, victims or local colour. It is about whether working-class policy critics are allowed to make structural arguments. Please look at the evidence in the Drive link and make your own judgement. @john_ainger @willmathis @MylesMcCormick_ @DavidSheppard @henrysanderson @shotarotani @ClimateHome @joeloyo @edking_I @DeSmog @Unearthed @TBIJ @openDemocracy @BusinessGreen @ENDSreport @theENDSreport @edie @EnergyLiveNews @UtilityWeek @reNEWS_

How's that "building trust" going? The only people who have even heard of you who aren't in your orbit detest quangos of this kind.

In a surprise to no-one, the ambitious flexibility targets have been described as the “hardest part” of plans for a decarbonised power system by 2030. Nick Winser admitted that ramping up flexibility to the level outlined in the government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan would be “very difficult”. Winser made the comments at Utility Week Live, where the National Energy System Operator (NESO) director of strategy and policy Claire Dykta also revealed that the flexibility challenge often leaves her with her head in her hands. As reported by @UtilityWeek utilityweek.co.uk/flex-is-ha…
