Expanding stands of #wapato has become an important part of the #SteigerwaldReconnectionProject. So much so that here is VetsWork technician Kayden protecting stands from hungry ducks and geese, who love eating the tender shoots and seeds, while these new plants establish.

It is truly such a privilege to have our VetsWork field techs to work with us! Alex has worked primarily with the Community Programs team, helping to prep planting sites and daylight native plants, leading volunteer events, assisting on field trips, and soon leading canoe trips!
