What is Spark? And why are people calling it the “onchain yield layer”?
@sparkdotfi is part of MakerDAO’s Endgame visionbuilt by Phoenix Labs and it’s quietly becoming one of the most powerful pieces of onchain financial infra.
Think of it as a modular, programmable onchain dollar operating system, with three core components:
SparkLend – a DAI focused lending platform supporting ETH, wstETH, cbETH, rETH, USDC, USDT, GHO.
Spark Savings – deposit USDS (a synthetic stablecoin soft-pegged to DAI) to earn real, onchain yield.
Spark Liquidity Layer (SLL) – enables recursive collateralization, yield routing, and liquidity movement through incentive bridges and programmable flows.
Together, they create a feedback loop between DAI issuance, capital deployment, and yield generation essentially turning Maker into an onchain central bank with a fiscal flywheel.
If
@LidoFinance built the staking layer of Ethereum, Spark is quietly building the yield layer public, transparent, and programmable.
Study Spark. It’s where real DeFi is happening.
