Our diocese has 22 men in seminary, discerning their call to the priesthood. Please pray for them as they continue their formation and their journey to discern God’s call for them! #VocationAwarenessWeek
Every priest is called by God to be a living image of Christ the Good Shepherd — to preach the Word, celebrate the sacraments, and guide God’s people with compassion and faith.
The priesthood is a lifelong vocation of love and service, marked by joy, prayer, and a deep union with Christ. Through their ministry, priests bring God’s mercy, hope, and presence into the world.
🙏 Pray today for all our priests — and for those discerning this sacred call.

Discerning your vocation means learning to listen for God’s voice.
Here are 5 ways to begin:
1️⃣ Pray and ask God daily for guidance.
2️⃣ Attend Mass and receive the sacraments regularly.
3️⃣ Spend time in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
4️⃣ Talk to a priest or spiritual director.
5️⃣ Be open — God’s plan will bring you joy and peace.
God wants your happiness even more than you do. Trust Him.

Today begins #VocationAwarenessWeek!
Throughout the week, we’ll hear some vocational journeys and discernment advice from those serving in their religious vocations. We pray for all the men and women serving in religious and consecrated life, as well as those who are discerning.
“God is still calling plenty of men - it’s just that young men aren’t hearing Him.”
This weekend, we kick off National #VocationAwarenessWeek with the Called by Name program! See Fr. Joshua Nevitt's column in the latest @CathStarHerald.
