#VolView: 10d HV < 10 and $VIX up -> almost highest Vol premium in 5 years, $VVIX und SDEX also elevated, call skew flat, put skew high at 3m, VIX curve flat after Jan expiry, specs building short positions, interesting dynamics in VIX options: C/P ratio rising from low levels

#VolView : 10d RV moved to where $VIX was last week, puts expensive, calls cheap, imp. correl high, curve in backwardation, VIX net short almost cut by half and C/P OI really low via increase in puts, $SPX positioning is the highest net long in 3m -> #BTFD, P/C OI didn't go up.

You may have noticed that I got a little lazy with my VolView. As I've written several times I think that the environment for short vol in any form has changed for the worse. So I haven't traded for a while. But this could be about to change. Good luck out there!

#VolView : Records everywhere! Lots of 0 and 100 percentiles. Markets dropped so sharply that put #skew is cheap and call skew expensive. Most inverted board in 5y (1 exception). Positioning: Forget CFTC (1 week old). But $VIX C/P is low and $SPX P/C dropped: Bets on a rebound!?
