🚨 Kīlauea Daily Update – Dec 26, 2025 🚨
The Volcano Notification Service is still down, so here's a summary Kīlauea's current status as of today’s update:
🔍 The Halemaʻumaʻu eruption is paused.
🔍 Weak glow visible overnight from vents, as well as cooling lava flows from episode 39 (active Dec 23-24).
🔍 Summit inflation underway, with 7.5 microradians recovered since the end of episode 39
🔍 Next lava fountaining episode (no. 40) forecast between Jan 4–11
🔍 Summit sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions continue during pauses, likely in the range of 1,000–5,000 tonnes/day.
🔍 No changes in the East & Southwest Rift Zones.
