Hereโ€™s everything you need to know about the latest UK #Wholesale #Electricity and #Gas prices. Last week, most #power and gas contracts fell, with reduced demand for heating across Great Britain coupled with increased #windgeneration. There was also a notable decline in all tracked seasonal gas contracts. See the full insights here: zurl.co/IppSc

The United States just experienced its windiest start to spring in nearly 50 years. It was the second gustiest March on record across the country โ€” only 1977 was gustier. Michigan had its most blustery March on record. If you thought it felt particularly windy: you're right!

German hourly day-ahead power prices dropped below zero for 14 hours for 1 January, marking the lowest baseload price for New Yearโ€™s Day since 2019. The day-ahead baseload contract settled at EUR 0.95/MWh, with peakload at EUR 0.10/MWh. Negative hourly prices persisted from 03:00 to 16:59 CET, reaching a low of EUR -1.01/MWh at 14:00 CET. Wind generation in Germany peaked at 49 GW, far surpassing the norm of 24.6 GW, with an average output of 40.9 GW, this was coupled with reduced power consumption, which stood at 49.9 GWโ€”5.3 GW below the usual level for the day. @montelnews #energymarkets #germany #windgeneration #energyprices

#NL: Forecast for high solar output of over 11GW on Sunday. Wind generation projected to be ~3.5-4GW. Click here to register for a one month Free trial of the NL report: info.montelgroup.com/montel-โ€ฆ Such high renewable forecasts on weekend periods when demand is lower is often an indicator of system difficulties in downward balancing. Negative day-ahead prices are forecast, and the sensitivities are generally in the downward direction. #energymarkets #energyprices #renewables #windgeneration #solargeneration

A look forward to the upcoming week for GB: 20th โ€“ 26th May. Wind generation is forecast to average ~6GW during this period, with peaks reaching ~10GW and lows dropping to ~1GW. Given the forecast of mostly low wind, CCGT utilisation is expected to see an average output of ~8GW, peaking at ~18GW on Tuesday evening coinciding with periods of lowest renewable output and peak demand. Day ahead prices are forecast to ~ยฃ90/MWh during hours of 6:00 โ€“ 9:00 pm on every day of the week except Sunday. IFA1 is currently scheduled to increase its availability by 1GW on Thursday which is projected to result in greater volumes of power imports into GB. Renewable outturn for Germany and Netherlands is forecast to decline, hence, we may see fewer volumes being exported to GB for the upcoming week #energymarkets #marketinsight #CCGT #windgeneration #renewables

EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (@EU_ACER) proposed alternative configurations in August 2022. Germany struggles with congestion and bottlenecks in sending excess wind power generation from its massive fleet in the north to power consuming industrial clusters in the south.
