Open windows can be dangerous any time of year for young children. Here are a few simple tips to keep your children and loved ones safe all year round. #CHoR #WindowSafetyWeek

It's #WindowSafetyWeek! Did you know NYC was the first U.S. city to adopt a window guard policy? In April of 1976, the City began requiring landlords to install window guards in apartments with young children. The law reduced deaths from window falls by over 98%.

Here's what you need to know: ✅ Install window guards & stops (screens do NOT protect against falls) ✅ Add emergency release devices to windows (critical in case of fires!) ✅ Open windows from the TOP, not the bottom ✅ Keep windows closed & locked when not in use ✅ Move furniture AWAY from windows - little climbers will find a way up!
