Okay @tvdsbmathk8 this was by far our favourite #WinterMathChallenge! We are spatial reasoning fans - so fun to practice seeing a pattern and recreating it from memory. They asked for more so I did a quick Google search and upped the difficulty (and time given). Impressive!!

More great discussions during this #WinterMathChallenge about patterning! The longer they looked at the pattern, the more they noticed. So important to give time and space for thoughts before trying to solve questions! ❄️ @tvdsbmathk8

Students LOVED this #WinterMathChallenge. Everyone was engaged discussing strategies and trying solutions until they got it right. Started with comments like “WOAH how’d I make that” and ended by teaching each other! They were very proud of solving the “spicy” level @tvdsbmathk8

Great math conversations today! There were visual estimations, comparisons, proportional reasoning and even estimating who in our class was around the same height as the tallest boy in the picture to use as a reference #WinterMathChallenge @tvdsbmathk8

This class is well up for the #WinterMathChallenge! We solved this one as a group and started by picking out the important info and asking great questions. Some claimed this was “too easy” so thanks for being kind to us on day 1 @dtangred 😂⛄️ @tvdsbmathk8
