Wait, before I mute lol - I do want to acknowledge that you raised a valid critique about oligarchic tendencies in hybrid models. That in fact is a valid critique of welfare capitalism models. There are such valid examples in Norway too as we speak. The model isn’t perfect, but it has produced relatively high levels of equality and social well-being, so it’s clearly one that *can* work when managed well.
Democratic socialism is the model Jason advocates for - one that Sri Lanka appears to be heading under NPP. Personally, I don’t disagree with that framework - in fact I like it. But like any system, it demands a careful balance in policy design and implementation. No model is flawless.
