3 #YearsAfterThisTweet... I had promised this yesterday, but here it goes. We set out to build the business from scratch with 3 major things in mind... The Future, The Present, and The Past. The Future... we signed several developing writers who showed promise and created opportunities for them to grow through camps and education and gave them opportunities to be in rooms that will put their names on some of the biggest split sheets in the business. The Present... we have worked with our global office on joint deals for some of the biggest names in the industry. Making use of SMP's global network of offices, we have secured landmark deals with the German, Dutch, UK, French, US, and Scandinavian offices with more deals on the way. The Past... not all Past, but we have moved to ensure our legends benefit from their hard work and creations through the Legends' Project. This has allowed us to educate old and new writers alike on the properly accepted ways to sample and create interpolation. It has been a rewarding journey and an honour to know that some of our top earners are legends. Oh... we also got a Grammy We are building the best publishing on this side of the continent. I am very proud. Campaigns and Activations... Working with and supporting of Head of A&R for Africa on executing the successful Accra Camp The Legend's Project, where we have signed and protected the rights of our legends like KWAM1, Ayinde Barrister, Adewale Ayuba, Sunny Nneji, Sola Allyson, Bright Chimezie and many more with more deals in the pipeline. The #FusionProject... earlier this year, we executed one of, if not the biggest, camps on the continent. Over 100 writers from Nigeria, Ghana, SA, the UK, the US, Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Canada, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and Poland in over 100 sessions over 7 days. We got a special visitor at the SMP Sampling Camp yesterday... The Legend, @kingsaheedosupa!!!! It was a pleasure to meet the legend and to share the idea and purpose behind the Legends Project in person and in more detail. We also got a chance to play some of the songs created by sampling his original works, and we are happy he is happy! 🤲🏾🙏🏾 I it was also great to see my brother @Teeymix and my oga Michael from @PremierMusic, and we somehow got into a long conversation about the industry and rights ownership... always a pleasure, my brothers! Also, how I'm looking at @RicHassani is how I'm looking at all our clients at SMP Nigeria... We love them all, and we will always put our #WritersFirst

The last 6 months have been intense for me and my team at @sonymusicpubwestafrica and it's been a rewarding feeling seeing our plans come to Fruition. We are not even 2% done.
