Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky defines that most magical point of education as the "Zone of Proximal Development" (ZPD). This zone is that narrow, golden line between what a child can do independently and what they cannot do at all. A true teacher or leader is the one holding the child's hand, waiting at that border. They ask the right questions and give slight hints so the student can solve a problem on their own; essentially, building a mental "Scaffold." Once the child climbs that step, they gently remove the scaffold. Our duty is not to solve problems for children; it is to build that invisible scaffold so they can climb to their own peaks.
