Its around 4000K. Besides my Amscope, (which I use another LED ring) its enough. I take some photos using my phone, and they all have no issues. Here are a few examples. I don't have any videos on hand.

This is my secret sauce. It’s about 15 years old now. Amscope stereo inspection microscope. 0.7-4.5x zoom, 10x WF ocular lens and a … 0.5x? Barlow lens to extend the working distance. 95% of the time I’m using minimum zoom. I’d be completely unable to work without this.

Yes, the port you circled is for a camera. I have the camera set up on mine, and simultaneously focused, but I don't recommend it. For one, the simultaneous focus only holds at one zoom level (I think because of the lack of a third coplanar objective for the trinocular port), so that's super annoying. Second of all, at least the AmScope branded camera I bought is a little crappy, despite nominally being 20MP.

I have a similar trinocular AmScope head on an arm! I *love* it, it's the best microscope I've ever used. Two comments: 1) I think the 0.5x Barlow lens is bascially mandatory, otherwise the focal plane is way too close to the objective. 2) The rubber eye piece eye guard thingies make a surprisingly big difference, and I notice they're absent on the head you show in your image. It's the difference between "I'm carefully holding my eyes at the right distance" and "I just relax and let my face smoosh into rubber". Now with the little rubber eye pieces it's definitely comfortable to use my microscope for hours and hours at a time. This is my favorite microscope setup I've ever used by far, although it's not an exact match to the trinocular AmScope head you show in your image.

I tried this AmScope model today to see how a stereo microscope feels. Need to find a way to to try a Mantis as well, to be able to compare the interface.
I want to upgrade my microscope from digital to a stereo one, for electronics use. Torn between these 2 models from Leica and Vision Engineering. Any thoughts? Have you guys used one of these before?

I never liked Mantis style devices; they are cool and give depth perception but I always found the fringing to be distracting. I bought a fairly typical trinocular inspection microscope from AmScope ~16y ago with 10x wide angle eyepieces and a Barlow lens and it’s been AMAZING.

I used a 4X AmScope microscope lens and ring light with short tube. Those shots are easy for me 😄 I need to invest more in 2X lenses.

An AmScope 7X-45X is what I use at home and at work, I have a stand similar to the one pictured above. With a good adjustable ring light, that is all you need. They do make polarized ring lights that help if you are having a trouble reading IC markings due to glare.

💚MICROCOSM LANDSCAPE 💚 In this microscopic image, you are looking at a population of Aspergillus, a fungus whose name comes from the Latin aspergillum, the tool used in religious rituals to sprinkle holy water. When mycologists first saw it under the microscope, its reproductive structures—a tiny sphere on a slender stalk—reminded them of that instrument. 🟢 Aspergillus fungi are everywhere: in soil, in the air, in decaying organic matter, and even in our homes. Their spores drift constantly through the atmosphere, and we breathe them in daily, usually without noticing. Some species play a double role: on one hand, they are essential to industry, producing antibiotics, enzymes, citric acid, and fermented foods; on the other, certain species can cause respiratory illnesses like aspergillosis, especially in people with weakened immune systems. 🟢 What fascinates me is how all this biological complexity rests on an incredibly efficient design: structures built to release millions of spores while using the least possible energy—a true feat of natural engineering on a microscopic scale. 🟢 I like to think of scientific photography as a bridge between observation and wonder. The microworld isn’t just an object of study; it’s also a place of aesthetic beauty. Because if you look closely, even the invisible can reveal whole universes. ♾️COSMOZOOM LAB♾️ 🔬Motic 1820 📷Amscope MU300 🔎 100× (dark field) #microbiology #SciencePerspective

My experience: 1. @PayPal I once won an international prize, and support for our work, which had to be sent to a family friend in the US to help out. I tried @Xoom too…it didn’t work 2. @eBay @eBayNewsroom I needed an Amscope Microscope Camera to share my pathology cases and for personal research. They closed my account in 24 hours before I even made any transactions. I experienced similar stuff with @skrill and @Trading212 (I replaced them with @investbamboo, no regrets!). I hope @theflutterwave and @OPay_NG would rather find other non-discriminatory partners to enlarge their services.

PayPal seems to think they're smart, reopening operations in Nigeria now. Nigerians managed just fine without them. For years, their restrictions cost us access to foreign jobs and freelance opportunities, forcing us to adapt. We developed alternatives and moved forward. Only now have they looked at Africa's youthful demographics and realized the substantial revenue they left behind. It's too late—they've missed their chance; we've already moved on.

I personally really like the @iLabCam iPhone adapter, especially the iLabCamUltra model. I use it on my personal Amscope microscope and it performs incredibly well. Haven’t tested it extensively on H&E slides, but I’ve been using it constantly for freshwater microscopy. Here’s a sample clip I captured recently. ✨

The fact that you were able to do all of this with a stereo AmScope is the most under-appreciated aspect.

Fair point. However, using an AmScope and betraying the Olympus brand might be unforgivable here.

All women are expensive in their own way lol. I might not want or care for a designer bag and heels for Christmas, but I do want an Emotiv Epoc X EEG and an AmScope B490A microscope. Lolllllll

Bet ja tā nopietni, tad viss no budžeta atkarīgs. Tāds vidus ceļš starp Zeiss, Nikon un Olympus būtu kaut kas no AmScope, Motic, Swift.

Someday, I'll buy or make something like this for my trinocular AmScope microscope. It would simplify checking QFN solder joints, especially those without exposed footprints, and small BGAs, though I don't work with those. ;-) youtube.com/watch?v=unHmWtlD…
