I use fedora workstation cuz I still like gnome. I tried arch and it is the same experience as an archinstall so i don't really care and pick the stabler one

i dont get much breakage at all! And most of their things get posted on their wiki pretty soon if there's one with instructions on how to fix. So typically can just look that up before updating if one is paranoid. PS: You dont need to install things yourself from scratch these days. archinstall is pretty good now and will install things for you very well.

try arch once. I find it much better in terms of compatibility with external ecosystems since its always current! And its a breeze these days to install with archinstall

I installed it, and it took me a heck of a long time to do the manual installation. Sure, the Archinstall script exists, but I still ran into a lot of errors. I wouldn't suggest switching to Arch if you don't have the time. That said, I learned a lot through the Arch Wiki. It's absolutely goated and has pretty much everything you need. I'm on a dual-boot setup, and the systemd-boot configuration caused some major issues. Also, I'm still not used to Arch's package management since I've been using Fedora for quite a while. Arch is definitely as minimal as people say, and I love that about it. But it takes a lot of time to configure everything and get all the components working together properly. So yeah, I don't think I'll be using it as my main distro for now. I have to manage my time as well, so I'll be sticking with Fedora. One tip, though: using a Fedora Spin is way more useful than sticking with the default GNOME edition.
I’m switching to arch linux, behold my upcoming bangers.

I would recommend trying out arch in a VM/separate partition. definitely won't be stable enough for a daily driver as a beginner, but you'll get a feel for the basics of linux pretty quick just trying to make everything work. doubly so if you don't use archinstall
