Good morning Legendz 🌄 GM ✨
It's really exciting to see how the entire crypto industry and beyond is realising that Quantum Computing is no longer a distant threat, but lurking, waiting to catch us unawares
Yet, many still feel Q-day is overhyped and everything doesn't just break overnight, that cryptographic transitions typically don't work that way 😄
But here's what you need to know most importantly;
>> Every major blockchain relies on elliptic curve signatures that Shor's algorithm can break, and the timeline for preparation reduced drastically from decades to 2030 or less
>> Crypto is uniquely exposed because public keys live permanently on public ledgers and managed mostly by individuals, so the upgrade bottleneck lies on community coordination
>> Post-quantum standards exist, but larger signatures create real scaling and migration costs, leaving us with the option to inconveniently prepare ahead or sacrifice precious assets for being reactive instead
It's easier for centralized systems to upgrade as we can see from Google and Cloudflare already deploying Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to protect user's data
Though it seems a lot more difficult for the Bitcoin community to reach a consensus for this upgrade, while
@quipnetwork already proffered a viable solution in collaboration with ArchNetwork
The race is still on, migration will take years, an industry response is necessary now!

@cadillion on Q-day for BTC:
"It is better to support a principle of non-intervention than to give protocol developers power to freeze arbitrary addresses, thus compromising the chain's neutrality."
