I think he had bad instincts from the start - even Bitshares was grifty as hell. He also obviously loved to quit things. And there's no way he wasn't at least *somewhat* culpable for EOS. But everything after that (including Bullish killing CoinDesk) was/is Blumer, not Dan.

We are likely both "OGs". I've been following along since 2013. I cut my teeth on podcasts like "Let's Talk Bitcoin" before he attempted to create the LTBnetwork and the accompanying coin. I was an avid supporter of Bitshares and was bummed when Larimer pivoted to the epic failure that is EOS. All along I have tried to separate the cult of personality from the underlying technology. I support Charles because he is an expert in his domain, and better yet he has a principled based vision of what an open protocol governed by the community of stake holders should evolve into. I don't see any other protocol with a mechanism for governance that has a constitution as a guide. Cardano does need an executive function apparatus to stay nimble and until someone of equal or greater competence emerges I hope Charles fills that role.

I've been following him since he and Larimer founded Bitshares. I met him at an EthDever Hackathon. He really hasn't changed too much over the years. If anything he has become more introspective lately.
