Outgrowth (sampler app) by Aqeel Aadam and BlankForms just got a really nice big update. Biggest thing is that you can now record directly into the AUv3. Every sampler plugin should have that feature, so I'm glad it's finally been added! See screenshot for all the details. Just put up a spoken YouTube walkthrough showing how to use the free Hole Puncher patch for Drambo (iPad, Mac, iPhone), or the midiGATEs app by Art Kerns, to do a variety of midi gating effects, bringing variety to midi sequences. This is especially useful for sequencers which lack sophisticated note probability features (most of them) or for those which do have probability features, but which are a bit convoluted to set up (Fugue Machine Rubato!) Jazz giant Sonny Simmons (1933-2021) never received a memorial and arguably never got his just due. That is until the afternoon of Sun. 12/7 at New York Studio and Mon. 12/8 at McNally Jackson Seaport, where the @BlankForms Edition ‘Before You Die Later’ autobiography release events serve as memorable tributes, with past Simmons collaborators, including former @JimiHendrix percussionist Juma Sultan (a friend of Simmons since 1963) and saxophonist Michael Marcus (co-leader of The Cosmosamatics group with Simmons).
