I read your post with great attention and deep respect, Jasem.
What you are publicly calling for here on Israel’s Independence Day is not only courageous, it remains a real taboo-breaking act in the Arab world. You are saying openly what many still hide out of fear, convenience, or ideological blindness: that alongside the Palestinian Nakba, there was also a Jewish „Nakba“. That around 850,000 Jews were expelled or forced to flee from their homelands across the Arab and Muslim world, that they lost their homes, businesses, and synagogues, and that this expulsion is still largely silenced or even justified to this day.
Your call for a vibrant Jewish quarter in every Arab country, for a genuine right of return for the old Jewish communities, and for a fair and transparent reckoning with the confiscated property and destroyed livelihoods is not an act of weakness or “normalization at any cost.” On the contrary, it is a sign of intellectual honesty, moral consistency, and true strength.
You are breaking with the inherited ideology of hatred passed down by previous generations and pointing to a path based on truth, justice for all those affected, and a real chance for reconciliation. Instead of endless competition over victimhood and one-sided narratives, you are advocating for an honest reset from zero, and that is exactly what makes your contribution so valuable.
Thank you for initiating this necessary, even if uncomfortable, discussion as an Arab voice. Clear words like these are far too rare in our region. They deserve respect and serious engagement. 👍

My Demand for Arab League Members on Israeli Independence Day 🇮🇱
I, the Kuwaiti 🇰🇼, Jasem Aljuraid, address a bold demand directly to the members of the Arab League on the day of Israeli Independence.
I say it fearlessly and without hesitation: Enough with the inherited hatred and historical lies!
I demand the establishment of a living and open Jewish Quarter in every Arab League member state, especially the Gulf countries and all Arabic-speaking nations. I demand the full right of return for Jewish communities to the regions where they lived for centuries among us, with complete recognition of their memories and history. I demand the fair and transparent opening of the compensation file for the properties and livelihoods that were confiscated from the Jewish families who once lived among us.
This is not weakness or mere normalization — it is a sincere demand for historical justice. This is a decisive rejection of the ideological hatred we inherited from our fathers and grandfathers, and a true resetting of accumulated historical problems to zero.
On this Independence Day, let us turn remembrance into a genuine historic opportunity: Let us open a new covenant built on truth, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence, instead of continuing the cycle of hatred and ruin.
The ball is now in the court of the Arab League and its members. Do you dare to take a bold step toward justice?
