You should visit Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina. The sculptures of children and half child half animal are so grotesque and everywhere that you can’t take a photo anywhere in the park without one appearing in the frame. And it’s from 1931!

And yes, i noticed the dates on the 1st one. 1949-1955. Its because the cemetery was still actively being used by the descendants of the slaves. But it was out in the old plantations, way out in the woods (we took a trek-like vehicle out there) at a place called Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC.
